We are big VeggieTales fans around here, so when I heard that a new DVD was about to be released, I was quick to grab a copy for the kids!
I put Celery Night Fever in my bag when we headed to the car repair shop a few weeks ago, planning to pull it out when the kids started to get antsy while waiting for our van to be fixed. They did a lot better than I’d anticipated with staying quiet and contained, so when I knew we had about an hour left to wait, I pulled out the DVD and the “movie pad” (as they call it).
Celery Night Fever was an instant hit with all three kids!
Celery Night Fever
[synopsis from the back of the DVD case]
Veggie pals Laura Carrot and Junior Asparagus have a big job to do…save their beloved Celery Park from being destroyed! Laura and Junior plan a fundraising concert with the formerly famous Groovy Brothers, but the bandmates refuse to play together because of an old grudge. All hope of saving the park seems lost until the group remembers that God forgives without question, so why can’t they do the same? Will the band reunite to save Celery Park? Find out in this fun, music-filled VeggieTales adventure!
I asked Jenny to share her thoughts about Celery Night Fever and then recorded her (unscripted) review of the movie.
My favorite line from her review? “It’s… awesomely cool!”
I loved that Jenny picked up on the theme of forgiveness in the movie (and still remembered it several weeks later) without anyone telling her that’s what she was supposed to “learn” from watching it. VeggieTales has once again created a fun cartoon that is teaching my kids biblical values.
I’m also a big fan of the fact that there was so much music in the movie. We love music in our house, so that was a big plus for us!

Disclosure: I was provided with a free pre-release copy of Celery Night Fever from VeggieTales in exchange for my honest review.
