Living intentionally by faith every day is NOT the “easy way out” of life. It’s most definitely not a “crutch for the weak.” No sirree.
In fact, I’d wager to say that living by faith is probably one of the most difficult ways to live life.
If Faith Wasn’t In the Picture…
… we probably wouldn’t be living in Michigan, watching our bank accounts closely, praying that God would provide enough funds each month to pay our bills.
… we would probably be living quite comfortably in a home we owned, eating out 2-3 times a week, and enjoying whatever entertainment suited our fancy each weekend.
… we would probably be more focused on enjoying life and living it to the fullest, caring little about reaching people with the Gospel or developing Christ-like disciples – and a significant portion of our resources most definitely would not be allocated to supporting missionaries and our local church.
… we probably wouldn’t be worried about teaching our children about God’s Word and how to live according to biblical standards.
But Faith is Lifestyle We Have Chosen
In fact, it’s the core of who we are as individuals and as a family.
Without faith, it is impossible to please [God]. Hebrews 11:1
Faith is the only constant in our ever-changing lives. It is the one thing that we know to be true – our faith is in Christ alone.
And so, it is by faith that we choose to live our lives. It is faith that guides our decisions, our priorities, our time, our resources.
“Easier” is Really Just “Emptier”
Life might be “easier” without faith, but it would be so much more empty. We would have a hole inside of us that could not be filled by anything this world has to offer.
Each of us was created with a God-shaped hole in our hearts – in our soul. Without faith in Christ alone, that hole remains. And nothing in this world can ever fill it, no matter how hard we try.
A Faith-Filled Life is Full of Blessings
Living by faith isn’t easy, but living by faith is a blessing.
How has God blessed you this week?
