Last week was pretty much a no-unit/theme week. We didn’t really read any books that had a specific theme, and we didn’t do any ‘fun’ activities to go along with our reading. It was mostly a “work on reading and writing” week, along with “life lessons” in math.
This week, we’re going to get started on Jenny’s garden! We’ve had a pretty warm spring, so my garden is hoppin’, & it’s time to get Jenny’s garden started. I’ve set aside my “extra” seeds (mostly tomatoes and squashes) for her to plant, and I’ve been saving recyclables for planters.
I think I’m going to start a spelling list for her this week, too, as she is starting to be able to sound out words to determine the letters in them quite well. We’ll continue to work on reading and writing – she can now write her full name (first and last) – as well as doing “life lessons” for math.
(“Life Lessons” are real life math – doing addition/subtraction with toys, food, etc.)
What are some fun gardening crafts/books?
We’ll be sure to take pictures and post about our week as it happens.
