How to Pray for Your Husband
As we moved through our series, “How to Pray for…“, we’ve looked at:
This week, I want to take a look at How to Pray for Your Husband. We all know that we should pray for our husbands, but actually knowing how to pray for him is sometimes a struggle. Some of you have husbands who are running hard after Jesus, encouraging you to run hard too. Others of you have husbands who are not walking with the Lord, leaving the spiritual health of your household in your hands. Regardless of where your husband stands with the Lord, as his wife, it is your responsibility to pray for him. I want to point you to some helpful resources that teach us how to pray for our husbands.
If you don’t already own a copy of Stormie Omartian’s book, The Power of a Praying Wife, I would highly recommend that you get a copy. This book was given to me as a wedding shower gift, and I have read it and used it over and over again in my five years of marriage. The book is broken down into 30 chapters, each focusing on an aspect of your husband’s life to pray over. Each chapter ends with a prayer and Scripture to pray over your husband. A few times a year, I add this book to my morning routine, praying a chapter a day for a month.
Another great resource is the prayer calendar provided by Revive Our Hearts. This ministry has put together a great resource, 31 Days of Prayers for Your Husband, that you could use to structure your daily prayer time for your husband. Each day focuses on a specific area of your husband’s life and provides you with a few Scripture verses to pray over him.
If you like to pray prayers that have already been written out for you, Andrew Case has a new book out, Prayers of an Excellent Wife. More than 200 pages of prayers written with Scripture as the core, this book is an excellent resource for learning to pray Scripture over your husband.
Not only do we need to pray over the character of our husbands, but we need to pray over their beings. This resource provides Scripture to pray over each part of his body.
Pamm’s House shares a weekly prayer calendar she found for praying for your husband:

It is definitely important to pray specifically for our husbands in their vocations. Thanks for sharing how you pray for your husband as he pastors his church! If you didn't see the post How to Pray for Your Pastor, you may enjoy reading it as well.

That's a great guide. My hubs is a minister, so I often pray for his own walk with the Lord, to be inspired as he prepares messages, to "not grow weary in doing good" (perseverance), and to have the right words to say to others.
