Daily Schedule Checklist for Kids

Yesterday I posted a photo on Instagram and Facebook of Jenny’s Summer School Schedule, and many of my friends commented that they wanted to copy the idea and use it with their own kids.

So today, I’m sharing the Excel file that I created for Jenny that you can download (for free) and edit for use with your own family.

A Brief “How-to”

We “do school” year-round but drop a few subjects and days during the summer months. Jenny has to cross off each box on that day’s row before going outside to play and/or watching TV. I’m hoping this will help keep her self-motivated this summer… so far, she’s excited about it!

I’ve already crossed off several boxes each day as she does not have to do all five “subjects” every day all week long. I’ll also take into account any field trips and/or vacations we take and cross off additional boxes on those days.

The last column on each row is for me to “sign off” on her work for the day – it’s my way of keeping her accountable for quality (not just quantity) work.

How Will YOU Use It?

  1. Ashley – I just love that you are training Jenny to be just like YOU… organized, efficient, and productive! Thanks for sharing this checklist with us – I’ll definitely be sharing it out as well.

When are you going to have that baby?!?!

    1. LOL – I think I might just be training her to be as independent as possible so I can be “lazier” in my parenting. ;)

Hoping this baby makes his appearance SOON… I’m 39 weeks today!!

  2. Ashley, this is great – I was going to create one for my home…but thank you for doing it already! Praying for you and your sweet little ones and the baby – btw, we loved the Astronomy and Who is God book(s) – we are going to re-read Who is God this year and my little guy will probably work through Astronomy
