We love sharing resources for busy families that help you grow closer together and grow closer to God. Here are just a few of the resources we are currently using in our home…

Recommended Resources for Busy Families

“New Morning Mercies” by Paul David Tripp

This 365-day devotional guide puts the gospel front and center in your heart and mind each day as you ponder the gospel-centric quote, read the expanded devotional, and consider the suggested Scripture passage.

As a busy mom of five, I love that I can spend 5-10 minutes with this book, my Bible, and my journal each morning, centering my heart and mind on the truths of the gospel before hitting the ground running.

Seeds Family Worship

Seeds Family Worship has been a part of our family’s Scripture-memory and family discipleship routine since 2009. Here are just a few of the ways we’ve incorporated the Seeds Family into our family:

Whether we’re listening to a CD in the car, streaming songs on Amazon Music, watching a music video DVD, or enjoying the family discipleship resources in the Seeds Family Box each month, Seeds Family Worship is a regular part of our family’s spiritual growth journey.

Amazon Echo Dot (Kids’ Edition)

We recently wanted a way to stream music and audiobooks in the littles’ room. I was pricing bluetooth speakers, and I found the Kids’ Edition Echo Dot. The price was comparable, and the features would allow us to use it without syncing to our phones.

After the novelty of “asking Alexa” to play everything under the sun wears off, it’s really quite a nice addition to our home. The kids can:

  • listen to their favorite podcasts
  • stream Amazon Prime Music Unlimited (try it free for 30-days)
  • “read” audiobooks on Audible
  • check the weather
  • play quiz games
  • and much more

We’ll probably be adding a few more Echo products to our home soon.

Jesus Storybook Bible

This has to be one of our most used Bible resources for our toddler and preschool-aged kiddos. (Even the older kids still enjoy reading it!)

The Jesus Storybook Bible highlights key stories throughout Scripture, giving young kids a full picture of God’s history through the Scriptures. And in each story, it hints at the Rescuer who is coming to save all of mankind.

I love that it tells the story of Scripture in easy to understand language with colorful graphics. Plus, it points the reader/listener to our need for a Savior and the Savior himself.

Reading the Jesus Storybook Bible with my kids has changed how I read the Bible on my own – now I look for Jesus (and find Him) and hints of the gospel message in every story!

FitBit Inspire HR

I was recently gifted a FitBit Inspire HR (the day after I ordered one for myself – woohoo for free Amazon returns!), and I’m loving it!

When the FitBit trackers first came out, I didn’t think I’d ever buy one or want one. I really didn’t (and don’t) care how many steps I was taking throughout the day.

BUT, when the ability to track sleep and heart rate popped up, I was slightly more interested. Couple that with the ability to get my phone notifications on my wrist throughout the day (I can’t have my phone on me at work), I added the FitBit Inspire HR to my wishlist!

“It’s Not Supposed to Be This Way” by Lysa TerKeurst

I’m pretty sure I had been avoiding this book… I knew God was going to use it in my life, but I wasn’t sure I was ready for the heart change it would bring. When I finally cracked the cover, I didn’t make it out of the introduction without the threat of tears.

Lysa TerKeurst’s words hit me exactly how I knew they would. The Holy Spirit challenged my heart as I was confronted with TRUTH.

Snag a copy and watch God work in your heart.
