The Christmas Angel
If you follow my Instagram or Facebook feeds, you probably saw these pictures of The Christmas Angel last month.
Ever since The Christmas Angel arrived at our house, the kids have been growing more and more excited to find out what she’s all about. They love to get her out of her tin and “pet her hair” {yes – this is what David claims he is doing when he gets into the tin}. They’re both excited for the day that they will wake up and search the house for her to see what fun Christmas activity she has for them!
About the Christmas Angel
The Christmas Angel is an “Elf on the Shelf” type Christmas tradition that helps families to focus on the true meaning of Christmas as they look for ways to keep Christ in Christmas during the Advent season.
Each Christmas Angel comes in a keepsake tin that includes The Christmas Angel storybook, the Christmas Angel plush doll, and a pouch of “golden dust.”
I love that the Christmas Angel came with a tin – it’s perfect for storing the doll and storybook from year to year!
The Story of the Christmas Angel
Included with the Christmas Angel doll is a colorfully illustrated storybook that shares the story of the Christmas Angel with your family.
We usually pull out our Christmas books the week after Thanksgiving and read them over and over again through the month of December. The kids can’t wait to read The Christmas Angel book together!
As it focuses on the true meaning of Christmas, the story of The Christmas Angel teaches children about the joy of giving to others, and helps them think of ways to get started.
The Christmas Angel promises to leave her “hints” for each day’s suggest giving project in “golden dust.”
And I love that The Christmas Angel storybook ends with the reminder that Jesus is the reason for the season – helping families to keep Christ in Christmas!
Hints in Golden Dust
I’m not a fan of messes – and I especially don’t like cleaning up messes – so when I considered how best to allow the Christmas Angel to share her “hints in golden dust,” I decided to step outside of the box.
How to Leave Hints in Golden Dust without a Big Mess
1. Gather your supplies – squeeze bottle of glue, a pencil, blank index cards, and a pouch of golden dust.
2. Use your pencil to lightly jot down your “hints” on index cards.
3. Trace the pencil markings with the squeeze bottle of glue.
4. Sprinkle golden dust over the index card – use an empty box/top to catch the extra glitter to avoid a large glittery mess.
5. Shake/tap off the excess glitter, being sure that all the glue has glitter on it.
6. Set the index card aside to dry.
This method not only will save me multiple headaches from messes, but it also will allow me to reuse the hint cards over and over each year!
Hiding the Christmas Angel
The part of the Christmas Angel tradition that my kids are most looking forward to is waking up each morning to find where she is hiding in the house!
Can you find the Christmas Angel hiding in my office?
Look closely at the top of my bookshelf…
There she is with her hint in golden dust!

Disclosure: I received this product for free and was compensated for the time spent writing an honest review.
We have been looking for a new tradition to add to our family this year. I am excited that they have come up with an alternative to the Elf on the Shelf.
I so want to win this! My daughter has been a little Santa obsessed this year. She has already made her list of everything. Meanwhile the true meaning is beyond her. This is the first year we are really having this problem so I was at a lost. I didn’t want to kill the Santa dream but it was coming down to it. I think this book will help us out a lot. I would love to purchase this but I am a single mom with a part time job. Not exactly big on my budget so I am praying for a miraclous win. :-) I think this is a great idea!!!! And thanks for the review, you never know what you are going to get so it’s nice to have this chance to see what it’s like for you.
Love this! We’d love to win it! :)
Oh that looks like such fun!
The kids would love this!
I’d love to win! :)
praying if this will work that I win.. :) Also praying the winner is truly BLESSED by the TRUE meaning of Christmas. Thanks for this offer. :)
I’d love to win this! I like the Elf idea, but seemed to fake to me. The angel is a better option for families who don’t “do Santa”.
Looks like such a neat idea! And something that we could take with us and use when traveling over the holidays!
I would so love to win this. What an awesome idea!
What a lovely tradition! I’d love to win a Christmas Angel for my home
I would love to win this for my children!
I love this idea! So wonderful
I like the elf on the shelf idea, but not that it sort of lends itself to the santa deal, so this seems like a great alternative incorporating the best of both things.
I would LOVE to win this for my children! The world seems to get more and more aggressive every year in their quest to remove Christ from Christmas. Anyway that we can reach our children the true meaning is important! Mama Jenn sent me!
This looks like so much fun. I would love to win it for my kids.
This is infinitely better than Elf on the Shelf! We would love to win one of these!
I would love to win….I entered!
