When the weather starts to get warm, our family spends lots of time outside. And while I love the great outdoors, I don’t love the smell and dirt that follow us indoors. So when we come inside, it’s off to the bathtub for the kids and the washing machine for their clothes. My kids love to soak in the tub with my DIY bubble bath recipe making lots of fun bubble for them to enjoy, while I start a load of laundry.

Playing Outside as a Family

Most afternoons, when the kids get home from school and Daddy gets home from work, we head outside to play together as a family.

Whether we’re tossing a ball, playing at the neighborhood playground, or simply taking a walk together, we enjoy getting outside together as a family.

 

It’s a little bit chillier than last week, but we are loving that the sun is shining again after a rainy few days!

When we come inside, it’s time for baths for the littlest members of our family. They often ask for bubble baths.

DIY Bubble Bath Recipe

I’ve started making my own DIY bubble bath recipe with three simple ingredients: castile soap, vegetable glycerin, and essential oils.

How to Make Homemade Bubble Bath

1. Add 1/4 cup of vegetable glycerine to a jar or bottle.
2. Add 1 cup of castile soap.
3. Gently mix in 5-7 drops of your favorite essential oil. I like to use a “fresh” scent for afternoon bubble baths or a “relaxing” scent for bedtime bubble baths.
4. Store your DIY bubble bath in a jar or bottle.

To use your homemade bubble bath, add 1-2 tablespoons to running water in your bathtub.

Let your littles play and soak in the bubble bath, getting squeaky clean!

Taming the Laundry Monster

While my littles are playing in the bubble bath, I can toss their dirty clothes in the washer. Having our laundry center directly outside the bathroom and bedrooms has helped me better keep up with all the loads!
