Dr. Seuss Board Game Fun
Combine our love of playing games together as a family with our love of all things Dr Seuss, and I hit the Dr Seuss board game jackpot three years ago when a family friend was cleaning out and selling all of her Kindergarten classroom resource center activities and supplies.
I spent around $30 total at that garage sale, picking up dozens of easy-readers, ABC magnets, Dr Seuss board games, and more.
However, the Dr Seuss board games never saw the light of day after that weekend garage sale. I think I had put them in storage with the intent of giving them to Jenny for Christmas or her birthday that next winter, but then they were forgotten about.

We Love Dr Seuss
It’s no secret that we are BIG Dr Seuss fans at our house – David is pretty much obsessed with all things Dr. Seuss. You might say that he’s obSEUSSed! From reading Dr. Seuss classics, to asking for a Lorax-themed birthday party, to creating Dr. Seuss crafts, to sleeping with The Cat in Hat each night, David is all about anything to do with Dr. Seuss.
Game On, Dr Seuss
Yesterday, I randomly remembered the Dr Seuss board games were somewhere in my office (in a box of games that hadn’t been unpacked since we moved 2.5 years ago). I decided that it was time to find them and play them.
It only took me a few minutes to locate the box with the games, and as I pulled them out, David was quick to say, “Let’s play, Mommy!”
I found Dr. Seuss’ ABCs, Green Eggs and Ham, and The Cat in the Hat board games – all with their $1 garage sale stickers still attached.
Dr. Seuss ABCs Board Game
Since David’s been working on identifying ABCs recently, I decided that Dr. Seuss’ ABCs board game would be a good game to play.
The game is based off Dr. Seuss’ ABC book – one of our favorites!
I couldn’t believe how well he did playing the game – from using the spinner and counting off the correct number of spaces, to identifying the names of the letters and the sounds they make, to finding the correct card with the BIG or little letter on it.
We’ll definitely be playing this game often over the next several months. (David and Jenny have already played it several times since yesterday morning!)
