As the busyness of the back-to-school season has begun to take over our family’s schedule, I decided to host an impromptu family game night with the help of Meijer and Coca-Cola™! It’s been a busy couple of weeks as the back-to-school season has begun to take over our family’s schedule…

  • During the day, the kids are back to school (we’re doing a light school load until after Labor Day) and I’m working from home most afternoons.
  • Our evenings are monopolized by football practice (watching or participating).
  • The weekends are busy making our new house a home.

That’s why when I was hitting up the back-to-school sales at Meijer this week, I decided it was time to host an impromptu family game night.

I knew we only had one free evening this week, and I decided to make the most of it!

How to Host an Impromptu Family Game Night

I didn’t want to go overboard with family game night, putting more on my plate, so I decided to keep it simple… eat food and have fun.

Eat Food

When I walked into the store, I noticed the Meijer All Together Meals display near the cart corral. Fried chicken and Coca-Cola sounded like a perfect meal to bring the family together, so I headed over to the deli.

Thanks to Meijer All Together Meals, you’ll never be too busy to get a delicious dinner on the table. Just stop by the Meijer deli to find lots of great ready-to-go deals… like a juicy Meijer 30 oz. rotisserie chicken and any refreshing 2-liter Coca-Cola product for $7, or crispy fried chicken and a 2-liter of Coke for $8.

While our family game nights don’t always include new games, I had picked up several games on clearance last week, and we couldn’t wait to try some of them out.
