How to Host an Impromptu Family Game Night

As the busyness of the back-to-school season has begun to take over our family’s schedule, I decided to host an impromptu family game night with the help of Meijer and Coca-Cola™! Hosting an impromptu family game night is a great way to bring the family together without a lot of planning or preparation. It’s a great way to reconnect as a family over a good meal and a fun evening of friendly competition.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks as the back-to-school season has begun to take over our family’s schedule…

• During the day, the kids are back to school (we’re doing a light school load until after Labor Day) and I’m working from home most afternoons.
• Our evenings are monopolized by football practice (watching or participating).
• The weekends are busy making our new house a home.

That’s why when I was hitting up the back-to-school sales at Meijer this week, I decided it was time to host an impromptu family game night.

I knew we only had one free evening this week, and I decided to make the most of it!

How to Host an Impromptu Family Game Night

I didn’t want to go overboard with family game night, putting more on my plate, so I decided to keep it simple… eat food and have fun.

Eat Food

When I walked into the store, I noticed the Meijer All Together Meals display near the cart corral. Fried chicken and Coca-Cola sounded like a perfect meal to bring the family together, so I headed over to the deli.
