Mother-Daughter Date Idea: DIY Mud Mask
When I was a tweenager, I LOVED “pampering” myself with mud masks and face peels. When my oldest daughter turned eleven, I thought it would be fun to use the all-natural DIY mud mask recipe that came in my January essential oil DIY subscription box. It was a fun mother-daughter date idea to celebrate my tweenager’s birthday!
Monthly Essential Oil Recipe Subscription Box
When Simply Earth contacted me about reviewing their essential oil DIY subscription box, I did some research on the company. I’m picky about where I buy my essential oils, and I wanted to be sure I could recommend the essential oils from Simply Earth before I agreed to review the box.
In my research, I discovered the Simply Pure Promise and the 365 day satisfaction guarantee. Feeling confident that the essential oils I would receive in my monthly subscription box would be high-quality and safe, I agreed to check it out.
I received my first month’s subscription box and was immediately blown away…
Full sized bottles of essential oils (3 – 15mL bottles and 1 – 5mL bottle) plus most of the supplies needed to make SIX different essential oil DIY projects. This box was FULL of value, and I couldn’t wait to see what the following month’s box would include!
When you order your Simply Earth essential oil subscription box, be sure to use “PICHEAPLACEFREE” to get a $20 gift card emailed to you after your first month’s subscription (can be cancelled at any time).
Mother-Daughter Date Idea: DIY Mud Mask
One of the recipes in the January essential oil subscription box was a DIY mud mask. I thought it would be the perfect way to spend a mother-daughter date on my oldest daughter’s birthday.
I used the recipe card and ingredients from the box to mix up the DIY mud mask (I just had to add my own raw honey and water):
DIY Mud Mask Ingredients:
- 1 tsp of bentonite clay
- 1 tsp raw honey
- 1 tsp water (may need more)
- 1 drop Bergamot essential oil
- 1 drop Angelica Root essential oil
I had to convince my daughter to put it on her face. She wasn’t so sure, so I did my face first. Once she was convinced, she enjoyed putting the mask on her face.
And when we were done, she commented that her face felt “so tight!” I told her that was how it was supposed to feel.
Since it was a special occasion, I even let her wear some of my makeup.
We had a great mother-daughter date, and I’m definitely adding this DIY mud mask to our next mother-daughter spa day at home!
